Rhodonite

I have been neglecting my blog for some time now and as decide to start a monthly article on the gemstones I sell.  This month I am starting with RHODONITE, you can find all the stones show here on my website www.beadaliciousbeads.co.uk also on Etsy and Artfire, link on the sidebar.

Rhodonite is manganese inosilicate, is a member of the pyroxenoid groups of mineral. It has a hardest of 5.5-6.5 and specific gravity of 3.4-3.7+.

Rhodonite  is name after the Greek word for rose “rhodon” its has a distinctive colour of rose pink to red or even orange  to black with a  dull lustre to pearly when polished.

Most of Rhodonite is found on Vancouver Island, Canada also in Mexico, USA, Sweden, Madagascar, South Africa, and Ural Mountains of Russia.

Healing properties
Rhodonite soothes the nervas system, promotes relaxation and a sense of well being. Rhodonite is the stone of love it’s believed to stabilize ones thinking into what is true, for the wearer sees others as brothers and sisters.

Beautiful Cabochons and Pendants would make a stunning pendant for a necklace.
Please feel free to leave a comment.
Enjoy.
